About the Role:
Apollo Agriculture is seeking an Investor Relations Associate / Sr. Associate, reporting to the Head of Investor Relations amp; Sustainability, to join the Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a technology-led and data-driven company that’s changing the lives of smallholder farmers in Africa, starting in Kenya. As an Investor Relations team member, you will play a key role in Apollo’s Investor Relations Program (read about our recent fundraise activity here). Your role will have a direct impact on widening Apollo’s impact to millions of farmers by attracting quality investors and developing strong relationships with strategic partners.
This role will involve collaborating with internal teams to understand the business and develop strong data-based narratives to communicate Apollo's work to external stakeholders. Your role will be instrumental in developing and maintaining scalable processes, dashboards, bespoke analysis, presentations and written collateral for clear and consistent communication about the company's strategy, financial results, tech, product, credit, commercial, impact and other cross-functional areas of work.The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented, highly motivated, resourceful, a good writer and a clear and confident communicator.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Reporting: This role reports to the Head of Investor Relations amp; SustainabilityResponsibilities:
  • Own and manage periodic reporting to funders/investors
  • Develop processes and dashboards while working cross-functionally with various Apollo teams including finance, product, tech, commercial, data science, credit, people etc.
  • Develop and refine investor-facing documents including presentations, business plans, shareholder letters, blogs and other related documents
  • Respond to inbound requests from investors and support on due diligence requests
  • Attend internal and external meetings and create/maintain internal information management systems
  • Plan and lead field visits with current/potential investors to Apollo’s customer locations (10-15% travel)
  • Support or lead on critical projects with Head IR amp; Sustainability
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements
Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of experience in a relevant industry, including, fintech, investment banking, consulting, investing, fundraising, financial analysis, equity research, growth startups, agtech, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (we’d love to see writing or presentation samples that you are proud of!)
  • Understanding of finance, financial statements and financial analysis (basic to intermediate level)
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Diligent attention to detail
  • Comfort working with Google Suite amp; MS Office
  • Open-minded,excited to learn and a no-job-too-small attitude
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree
  • Experience working with design or data analytics tools is an added advantage
