Job Description

Flare is a fast-growing tech startup building the emergency response of the future. Our 24-hour rescue.co Dispatch Center provides lifesaving services to millions of Kenyans, and our platform powers emergency response for SOS and EMS applications.


Our vision is that emergency response is only minutes away, no matter where you are or who you are. Over the last four years, we’ve built and deployed a lifesaving platform and assembled the largest network of ambulances and first responders in East Africa. Our platform has reduced response times by more than 80% and saved thousands of lives from previously impossible situations. We are expanding our operations and looking for passionate, hardworking, and effective team members to spearhead this next growth phase.


We are 30+ business amp; ops specialists, software engineers, and emergency dispatchers based in Nairobi and operating throughout Kenya. We are a goal-driven, results-oriented team that continuously improves our technologies and dispatch operations. We value consistency, community, alignment, and curiosity.

Requirements

Today, we sell our services to businesses, and partners and have a team of sales representatives and account managers. We are looking to hire a sales manager to help the company track, improve and scale in Kenya and beyond. Here’s what you’ll do:


  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets and retention quotas by successfully managing the team through in-depth understanding of the business
  • Implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and existing customer revenues
  • Set quotas as it relates to meetings, calls, engagements and revenue
  • Create a structure for identifying new customers and plan approach to listed customers, followed by monitoring of activities against these customers
  • Hold self and team accountable for meeting set KPIs and quotas
  • Monitor daily activities of the team and coach the team to continually improve their performance in key competency areas (60% time spent doing this)
  • Co-travel and work directly with each team member to provide feedback on SFE (sales force effectiveness) as well as customer feedback from a managerial perspective
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Analyze sales, customer and activity data to monitor progress against objectives and communicate progress to team
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status


Requirements

BS/MS degree in business administration, healthcare or a related field

Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets

Committed to continuous improvement and high learning agility

Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization

Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close

CRM experience

Strong business sense and healthcare industry expertise

Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
