Every day at ecoligo we work to fight the climate crisis, bringing solar energy to businesses in countries like Ghana, Kenya, Vietnam, Philippines, Chile, Panama and Costa Rica amongst others through the ecoligo crowdinvesting platform. We own and manage each energy project allowing us to deliver both environmental and economic returns. Our crowdinvestors earn a solid financial return, and our solar clients get an energy provider that’s fairer, more affordable, and more efficient. So far, ecoligo projects will prevent over 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from entering our atmosphere. And we’re just getting started.

Our quickly growing international team is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager (f/m/x) in Kenya to lead the development activities and sales of our solutions in East Africa. We’re looking for a costumer focused person with an engineering background or affinity. You are ready to take full ownership of the Solar Camp;I sales process and lead the sales team in the region. You combine your people skills with Solar PV technical knowledge and look at the work through the eyes of a client. Our ideal candidate has already got their hands dirty in sales and understands the solar industry. In this role you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of ecoligo's sales strategy in East Africa
  • Manage energy project opportunities from the first inquiry through its various stages until closing the contract; including preparation of offers as well as negotiation and closure of PPA and lease contracts
  • Continuously engage with clients to build up trust and convince them of our solution
  • Manage local EPC relationships, strengthening existing partnerships and building new ones
  • Reporting of progress of the opportunities to management and daily update of the opportunities in our CRM system
  • Monitor the market news and updates to continuously improve ecoligo's offer
  • Represent ecoligo in conferences and events

Requirements

Your Skills:

  • Having more than 5 years of experience in sales of solar solutions in Kenya, ideally in the Camp;I market
  • Having a proven track record of deal closing within a B2B environment
  • Good understanding of energy systems, technical components of solar PV projects, load profiles, energy consumption behaviour, especially for Camp;I clients
  • Understanding of basic financing mechanism for solar solutions
  • Experience managing and developing small teams in dynamic environments
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Tools, experience with Asana is a plus, as is with CRM systems
