Role SummaryThe Partner Manager’s primary responsibility is to expand Angaza’s POS consumer financing merchants’ business in accordance with the company's strategy. This individual reports to the Director of Retail Partnerships. Partner Management
  • Managing strategic or High Priority Merchants in their given territory
  • Analyzing merchant performance across sales and portfolio health KPIs across sales locations, SKUs, customer base, price range and other criteria
  • Driving sustainable sales through their merchant partners and respective sales agents
  • Ensuring monthly merchant metrics meetings and weekly metrics communications
  • Managing their Bill of Business (BoB) and all executive communications
  • Managing their BoB in a designated geographical area or otherwise assigned
Acquisition Expansion
  • Generating Leads and Acquiring Merchants according to detailed policies
  • Expanding merchant business through facilitating smartphone sales
  • Liaising with marketing for ongoing projects
  • Ongoing sales account management
  • Negotiating Merchant Agreements
  • Creating Leads, Accounts, Opportunities, and maintaining data integrity in a CRM tool
  • Expanding Angaza POS consumer financing solution across merchant sales locations as instructed
Portfolio Health
  • Driving healthy client registrations at merchant sites
  • Executing Portfolio Health Initiatives and other Angaza best practices
  • Proactively escalating fraud cases
Training
  • Indoctrinating merchant sales agents to Angaza POS consumer financing solution unique selling proposition
  • Conducting merchant sales training
  • Conducting merchant application training
  • Providing ongoing training to sales agents
Required Skills Experience
  • 3-7 years of experience working in retail oriented business development role
  • Past experience in a similar role, particularly in FMCG and smartphone sales
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time within Kenya
  • Must be fluent in English and Swahili, additional local languages preferred
  • Experience working in an international company preferred
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet software (Excel and/or Google sheets)
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to confidently engage stakeholders
  • Can thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to multitask without getting easily overwhelmed
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
